EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, in his statement on the subject reminded that the elections in Libya were postponed.
“We call on the Libyan authorities to establish a plan and timetable for holding inclusive, free, fair and reliable presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, in line with the agreed roadmap,” Borrell said.
Stating that the Libyans can achieve stability and peace only through democratic elections, Borrell said that the elections should be held. United Nations (UN) and support the Libyan authorities.
Libya National High Election Commission, in its statement on 22 December, suggested that the presidential elections, which were planned to be held on 24 December, be postponed to 24 January 2022.
The Election Committee of the Libyan Assembly also determined the presidential and parliamentary elections as previously determined. on December 24 declared that it was impossible to do.
